Xylem's Smith-Blair 921/922 Top Bolt Wide Range Flanged Coupling Adapter is a fabricated steel flanged coupling adapter that can seal a wide range of pipe ODs in a nominal size. Available in two sleeve lengths to better suit your specific project, this FCA connects a wide variety of plain-end pipe to flanged fittings, meters, valves and other flanged equipment. The coupling features removable/replaceable channeled inner gaskets and double-acting bolt technology that lowers installation times.

Xylem's Smith-Blair 921 and 922 Top Bolt® FCAs are fabricated steel flanged coupling adapters that can seal a wide range of pipe outside diameters in a nominal size. Available in two sleeve lengths to better suit your specific project, these flanged coupling adapters connect a wide variety of plain-end pipe to flanged fittings, meters, valves and other flanged equipment. The 921 features standard sleeve length while the 922 offers extended sleeve length for applications requiring additional coverage. Both products feature patented double-acting bolt technology that closes in two directions at once, significantly lowering installation times.
The 921 and 922 are constructed with carbon steel sleeves and rings for durability and strength. Flanges are manufactured to AWWA C207 Class D ANSI 150 lb. drilling specifications for 3"-12" sizes, while the 2" size features a standard meter coupling flange. The gaskets are made from nitrile (Buna N) certified to NSF/ANSI 61/372 standards for potable water applications. Hardware includes 304 stainless steel bolts with Flexi-Coat® fusion bonded epoxy finish and heavy hex head 304 stainless steel nuts with fluoropolymer coating. The entire assembly is protected by Flexi-Coat®, Smith-Blair's proprietary fusion-bonded epoxy finish applied at 12-15 mils thick to reduce friction and help prevent corrosion points.

The 921 and 922 are rated for up 175 PSI working pressure (depending on size) and are suitable for use with ductile iron, steel, PVC, copper, asbestos cement, and HDPE pipe (when used with pipe stiffeners). Available in nominal sizes of 2" through 24", these flanged coupling adapters accommodate a wide range of pipe outside diameters within each nominal size. The FCA's Bi-directional gaskets can be inserted either way, reducing the chance for installation mistakes. The corrugated armor design reduces friction between gaskets and armor for better seating and to prevent finish gouging. Lightweight construction enables easier handling and quicker job installations, while the two-piece flange design at the coupling end can be disassembled on the job site for gasket replacement if required.
