In 2004, a major west coast city began construction of two new interceptor sewers. The 12 foot diameter intercept lines relieve hydraulic overloading, but also created a number of turbulent areas where nuisance odors adversely affected the local residential community. Mobile water treatment eliminates iron level issues
This client operates a groundwater treatment facility at a Super Fund site where groundwater is pumped to a VOC stripper for the removal of TCE which is then re-injected into the aquifer. High iron levels in the groundwater caused fouling of pumps, pipes and well casings. This fouling threatened the reliability of the process in terms of flow.

Municipal drinking water treatment
Municipalities are often faced with VOC contamination of their source wells. Chemicals like Vinyl Chloride and Trichloroethylene can leach into aquifers used as source water for municipal wells. Orange County Water District Removes PFAS With 30 Systems
In February 2020, the California State Water Resources Control Board announced revised drinking water Response Levels for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water. The new Response Levels (RLs) were set at 10 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFOA and 40 ppt for PFOS. The previous RL was 70 ppt for a combined total concentration for the two contaminants.
