L.A.’s Wilshire Grand Center stands tall with Bell & Gossett and A-C Fire
The Hotel Statler, later known as the Wilshire Grand, would become an L.A. cultural icon, hosting celebrities, politicians and businesspeople the world over. Yet, over time, its heating and cooling systems became so inefficient that not even a $20 million makeover could save the aging hotel, setting in motion the five-year construction of a new hotel, offices and retail space.

Although St. Francis, Minnesota, located in Anoka and Isanti counties, has a population of only 7,218, it has big ideas when it comes to the future of its wastewater treatment system. Those big ideas came to fruition starting in 2015 when the city began building a new treatment facility at its existing wastewater treatment plant, which was built in the 1970s. Although upgraded in 2000, the upgrade did not address existing and future regulations regarding ammonia and phosphorus.

A large east coast utility contacted Xylem for assistance in treating cyanide contamination in their groundwater. The contamination occurred as a result of production by a former manufactured gas plant (MGP) which previously resided at the location.
