In industries where a single microscopic particle can derail an entire production line, "clean" isn't enough. You need Ultrapure Water (UPW) that meets the most stringent global standards.
Ultrapure water is water that has been purified to stringent specifications. Unlike potable water or standard distilled water, UPW is essentially free of all dissolved gases, organic compounds, particulate matter, and ionic contaminants.
Electrical resistance is a common metric used to measure ionic purification in UPW. At this level, the water is so pure it becomes non-conductive and chemically aggressive, making it the ideal "blank slate" for:
- Semiconductor cleaning and rinsing: Removing trace-level contaminants and residues from semiconductor wafers
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing: Providing high-purity water for formulation, cleaning, and critical process applications, including purified water and water for injection systems
- Power generation system protection: Minimizing scaling, corrosion, and deposit formation in high-pressure power generation systems
