Tolerable salt and sand content

The LORENTZ warranty describes that LORENTZ pumps are designed for pumping water for humans and animals. Pumping other liquids is not covered by this warranty.

The water should not contain solids or long fibred particles larger than sand grains.

• max. permitted sand content is 50 g/m3, a higher sand content will reduce the pump life considerably due to wear.
• max. salt content: 300–500 ppm (at max. 30 °C / 86 °F)

There are different units for measuring particle concentrations in water. However, there are easy ways to compare the units, e.g. 1g/m3 = 1ppm = 0.0001%.
