Key Product Features
Xylem's Smith-Blair 261 Full Circle® All Stainless Repair Clamp is a single-band, fabricated stainless steel lug clamp engineered to repair complete breaks, splits, and holes in pipe, and to join pipes of the same diameter. Designed for pipeline applications from 2" through 12" nominal sizes, it delivers full circumferential sealing to meet the demands of your most critical infrastructure repairs.
Whether you are responding to an emergency main break or executing a planned repair, the 261 can help you restore service quickly and confidently.
Every component of the 261 is specified to perform. The band is Type 304 Stainless Steel per ASTM A240, 24 gauge for clamps 4.50" diameter and smaller and 20 gauge for 4.80" diameter and larger. The fingers and lug bar are each Type 304 Stainless Steel per ASTM A240 at 10 gauge, solution annealed for increased corrosion resistance and strength; long fingers allow for up to 0.40 inches of range in the clamp. The keeper bar is Type 304 Stainless Steel per ASTM A240 at 14 gauge, solution annealed, and helps pull the clamp around the pipe and close it during installation.
The 261 is available in nominal pipe sizes 2" through 12" and seven standard band widths: 7.5", 10.0", 12.5", 15.0", 20.0", 25.0", and 30.0"; clamps 4.50" diameter and smaller are available up to 15.0" width only. Working pressure is rated up to 150 PSI, depending on type of pipe, type of repair, pipe diameter, service conditions, and installation workmanship. Compatible pipe materials include Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron, Cast Iron, PVC, Asbestos Cement, Copper, Aluminum, and HDPE (DR17 or thicker with use of spring washers).
The Smith-Blair 261 is certified to NSF/ANSI 61-G & 372 and meets applicable AWWA C230 standards. Optional configurations include Type 316 Stainless Steel band or hardware with fluoropolymer-coated nuts, alternative gasket materials (Viton, EPDM, and others), spring washers for HDPE service, and offset gaskets for repairing longer cracks using multiple clamps.
Important: Spring washers are required when this product is used on DR17 or thicker HDPE pipe. This product is NOT recommended for use on HDPE pipe DR17 or thinner. Pipe stiffeners are required when this product is used to join HDPE and thin-wall PVC pipe. This product does not restrain pipe movement. Proper anchoring is required to prevent pipe pullout.
