Flygt N-technology is a self-cleaning hydraulic design that actively guides debris through the pump to prevent clogging while maintaining high efficiency. Conventional channel impellers rely on throughlet size to pass solids but are susceptible to the buildup of soft, stringy, elongated objects (such as wipes) on their leading edges. As these objects accumulate, the flow rate of the pump decreases, reducing the pump's efficiency. Eventually, the motor may overload, causing the pump to shut off.
The self-cleaning Flygt N-technology hydraulic design does not accumulate the typical contaminants present in modern wastewater. Solids that land on the leading edges of the impeller are continuously pushed towards the periphery and out through the pump discharge via the relief groove located in the insert ring. This yields significant operational savings due to increased clog resistance and sustained pump efficiency.

Yes. Flygt Concertor can be retrofitted into an existing pump station and does not necessarily require a completely new installation. For example, the City of Woodland, Washington installed Concertor at an existing station to accommodate higher flows. Because station configurations differ, Xylem recommends assessing the existing installation to identify the appropriate solution.
Flygt MAS 801 continuously monitors vibration, current, temperature and leakage. It provides early warnings when values deviate and records sensor data associated with alarms, helping operators investigate faults and take preventive action before failures cause damage. Its incident-recording and root-cause support can also help maintenance teams diagnose problems and restart systems more efficiently.
