Major Brewery Meets Discharge Limits and Taps into Green Energy
Increased discharge surcharges and newly imposed limits on wastewater strength prompted Oland Brewery to rethink its treatment strategy. The company wanted to be environmentally responsible, so it investigated on-site wastewater treatment options. Since the brewery is located in close proximity to neighboring buildings, space limitations were very influential in the brewery's technology selection.

Michigan school district removes arsenic from on-site well
After the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reduced the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for arsenic presence in drinking water from 50 ppb to 10 ppb. The Pinckney School District sought a solution for treatment of arsenic, tested at 20-25 ppb, and to be compliant with the new requirements.

The German municipal waterworks SWU Energy provides 162,000 people per day with potable water. This encompasses a distribution system of approximately 760 kilometres in Ulm, Neu-Ulm and the neighboring districts. More than 11 million cubic metres of water per year come from the valleys of Donau and Iller. The sedimentary nature of the region ensures the high quality of the water which is distributed by twelve pumping stations and ten high-level reservoirs.
