Mobile water treatment eliminates iron level issues
This client operates a groundwater treatment facility at a Super Fund site where groundwater is pumped to a VOC stripper for the removal of TCE which is then re-injected into the aquifer. High iron levels in the groundwater caused fouling of pumps, pipes and well casings. This fouling threatened the reliability of the process in terms of flow.

Municipal drinking water treatment
Municipalities are often faced with VOC contamination of their source wells. Chemicals like Vinyl Chloride and Trichloroethylene can leach into aquifers used as source water for municipal wells. When this occurs, in many cases the most cost-effective solution is to treat the water to remove the VOCs using air stripping, which has been established as a Best Available Control Technology BACT for this application.

Optimizing a plant's high purity water system with new CEDI modules
High-purity water is essential for producing steam that will not scale turbine blades with silica, minerals, and other contaminants. A large power generating company in North America used a competitor's continuous electrodeionization (CEDI) system for that purpose.

Orange County Water District Removes PFAS With 30 Systems
In February 2020, the California State Water Resources Control Board announced revised drinking water Response Levels for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water. The new Response Levels (RLs) were set at 10 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFOA and 40 ppt for PFOS. The previous RL was 70 ppt for a combined total concentration for the two contaminants.

Process control features to optimize energy efficiency and process stability
Before online instrumentation, process adjustments to biological activated sludge processes were made based on delayed results from laboratory testing. The introduction of online instrumentation to the process tanks improved the response time and allowed operations staff to make process adjustments based on real-time data.
